Dear Beloved Parishioners,

The living waters of our Faith!

Jesus as the living water is a rich biblical metaphor meaning eternal life, the Holy Spirit, and deep spiritual satisfaction.

We see wonderful examples in the story of the Samaritan woman (John 4:10-14). Jesus tells a woman at a well that physical water leaves people thirsty again, but the water He gives becomes a spring welling up to eternal life.

We also see in the Feast of the Tabernacles (John 7:37-39): Jesus cries out during a water pouring ritual that everyone who is thirsty can come to Him, promising the rivers of living waters will flow from the hearts of believers, referring to the Holy Spirit.

Water is the basis of all living things, and unlike a dry well or a stagnant pool, Christ provides fresh, flowing, and active spiritual renewal.

Through this spiritual nourishment, water which flows through our souls it becomes a permanent source of grace that heals the soul and overflows to touch the lives of others.

In our country and in our community, we have so many who are dying from the lack of God’s spiritual water. Despite the riches of this world, people are parched, seeking meaning and peace in their lives which the world simply cannot give.

May God guide us to lead people to this holy water which will moisten their souls and make this broken world whole again, in His glorious hands.

God Bless,

David+
